Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a fun and relaxing Winter Break. We are all excited to be back at school and ready to get moving on our Reading, Writing and Math! We got right to work with our Writer's Workshop.
Writer's Workshop begins with a storyteller. Everyone has a story to tell. Then the audience gets to ask the storyteller questions or make comments about the story they shared. This week, we are focusing on making sure the stories we write have a character (who the story is about) and a setting (where the story takes place or happens). At the end of every workshop, we do some sharing where students get to teach others about their writing and something they learned or did in their writing for the day. We love being the teachers!
In Math, we continue to work on building or representing numbers, number word before and after, and counting backward and forward. We are doing lots of work with ten frames and structuring numbers as well as continuing to practice our Math skills through the use of our Math Workplaces.
