Meet the Stars of the Show

Well, by now you all know we have our big kindergarten music program on Friday.  When you arrive at school on Friday, be sure to check out the display in the hallway outside the main office to see our "Stars of the Show".  Each student thought of something they would like to be when they grow up.  We took photos of them and hung them near the office!

You will be able to keep the photos when we take them down.  Enjoy!

Library with Mrs. Horton

Have I mentioned how much these kindergartners absolutely LOVE going to the Library on Fridays to work with Mrs. Horton?  Well, they do!  Mrs. Horton always reads us an awesome book and teaches us about something very cool and interesting.  She helps us choose amazing books to bring home to read and at this visit, she let us have Fun Book Day for having such good manners in the library.  We are so lucky to have such a kind and fun media clerk at Northview.  Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Horton.  These kindergartners love you, and so does their teacher and paraprofessional!!!

   

   

   

   

   

Curious George

These kindergartners have been loving reading and learning about H.A. and Margret Rey and their lovable character Curious George.  We have been reading lots of Curious George stories and learning about the story structure of each of these stories.  This has been helping us with our retelling skills.  We have also learned that George is a good little monkey…but always very curious!  We are a lot like George in that we, too, are very curious.

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

Music Program Practice

All four of our kindergarten classes have been working very hard practicing for our kindergarten music program performance.  Each morning, we all meet is Mrs. Kurt's room and practice our poems, songs and actions for the big show.  We are super excited for Monday because that will be our first time practicing on the big stage in the gym for the real show!  Many thanks to Mr. Ball and Mr. Gibson for getting the staging and the sound system all set up and ready for us to use.

   

   

   

If we work really hard at our practices, each Friday we get to celebrate by having Fun Friday when we finish practicing!  This week we played an enormous game of ZAP with all the kindergartners and got to have a fun dance party!

   

   

We also worked on our speaking parts for the program and practiced saying them.

   

   

Our next big job was to get into our show order.

We can't wait to share our hard work with you.  Remember…the show is on Friday April 13 at 10:00 A.M. in the school gym.  Hope to see you there!
