Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from our school family to your family.  Have a wonderful holiday.

Thanksgiving Feast Snack

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we made a community snack mix.  Students brought in an item to share and with the help of Mrs. Radermacher, we put them all together in a bowl to create our Thanksgiving snack mix.

We had goldfish crackers, cheez it crackers, pretzels, cheerios, bugles raisins, marshmallows, peanuts, corn Chex, rice Chex, popcorn, M&M's, and lots of goodies for the mix.  After we put it together, we mixed it all up and shared it with our classroom family.

We also made a list of all the wonderful things that we are thankful for in our school family!  Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Researchers

Here are some photos of a few of our kindergarten scientists in the Research Station.   Scientists are busy observing the artifacts they collected on the nature walk.  Some other scientists are working on the meteorology part of the research station as well.  These scientists are busy recording their observations about trees and weather!

Nature Walk

This past Monday morning, my kindergarten scientists bundled up and got ready to go outdoors.  We went on a nature hike.  The purpose of our hike was to observe nature and things outside.  We also collected artifacts from the walk.  Each scientist had a bag and were expected to collect artifacts that would fit inside their bag.  These artifacts included such things as leaves, sticks, pine needles, acorns, pine cones, berries and many more.  We had a wonderful time exploring, observing and collecting artifacts.  These artifacts are now part of our Research Station that we are using during Managed Independent Learning.

Math Work Places

These kindergartners are working so hard on building stamina in school.  This afternoon, we spent time working in small groups on our Math Work Places.  These work places contained the following activities:  Bucket of Bugs, Which Bug Will Win?, Pattern Blocks, Polydrons and Which Numeral Will Win?  While building stamina, students also work on collaboration and problem solving skills.
