Northview Carnival

Thank you to everyone who donated in any way to our classroom Lego raffle basket for the school carnival.  It looks amazing!!  This and all the raffle baskets will be on display in our library this week.  You will be able to purchase raffle tickets for all the baskets and many staff and student activities at the Northview School Carnival.  The carnival will be held this Friday, April 28 from 5 - 8 P.M.  This is a major PTO fundraiser for our school.  Please consider attending to support our wonderful Northview PTO.

Special thanks to Lori Sitowski for coordinating the basket for our class.

Penguin Stories with Mrs. Gillen's First Graders

This past week we had the pleasure of learning about many different types of penguins!  First grade does an intensive research project on penguins and they also write and publish nonfiction penguin books.  Mrs. Gillen's first grade class came and shared their research with us.  We were delighted to learn so many new facts about penguins.  The first graders did an amazing job on their books, too.  It was fun to see the result of their hard work!

Art Adventure

We had another wonderful Art Adventure session last week with Nana Sherry…Sherry Landrud.  She is the grandmother of a first grader but also volunteered to teach our class about the beautiful art pieces at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

We really enjoyed learning about the art and having Nana Sherry in our classroom.  Many thanks to the Northview PTO for sponsoring this great program for our students.  If you ever have the chance, please visit the Minneapolis Institute of Art to see these treasures in person.  Admission is FREE!!

Here are more show day photos for you to enjoy.  I apologize for not getting pictures of everyone.  Again, thank you all so much for coming and supporting your little one!

These kids are way better at selfies than I am!

We actually did get some school work done on Friday, too.  Here are some photos of our Roll & Build math activity.

Have a great weekend!

Kindergarten: A Year in Review

The big day was finally here.  Don't they look great up on stage??  So much excitement and they all did a wonderful job.  I am so proud of them.

As usual, I couldn't resist a shot of their silly faces!
