Good Bye Granny Goose and More Earth Day

Today was our friend, Granny Goose's last visit.  She has come to read to us once a month since September.  We love hearing her stories and having her visit.

Before she arrived today, we wrote notes to her during our Writing Workshop.  Then we gave them to her after she read to us.

Thank you Granny Goose, for sharing your love of reading with our Kindergarten class.

Our Earth Day projects that we finished yesterday look great hanging in the hallway.  Thanks, Mrs. Radermacher!

This afternoon we read the story "Clifford's Spring Clean-Up" by Norman Bridwell.  It talks about cleaning up for spring, inside and out.  We made our own litter bags to collect trash.

All of the Kindergarten students at Northview helped with Our Promise to the Earth project below.  We added blue and green hand prints to the earth and each class is adding their promises to the earth on sentence strips.  Together, we can help to make the world a better, cleaner place!

For the next few days, we will be participating in community building activities.  With the winter weather lingering on, we all need a little review on being a good friend, making good choices and getting along with others.
