Inside Recess and Writing Workshop

Hard to believe it is already December and the 57th day of the school year!  We started off the day getting new table spots for the new month of December.

Since it was not a very nice day, we had inside recess today.  We decided to have our Free Choice time during inside recess.  Here are some of the fun things we did:

We cut out some red and white circles for a project we will do tomorrow.  Mrs. Kurt said we will be making something with a pattern.  Check the blog tomorrow to see what it is!

We did our Writing Workshop this afternoon.  We are working on stretching out our stories and adding more details to make our writing more interesting.  Mrs. Kurt read us the story "Owl Moon" by Jane Yolen.  This story is full of wonderful details and also won a Caldecott Medal in 1987!  Ask your child what the Caldecott Medal is awarded for...they should be able to tell you!

We spent some time writing, too.  Wow, we are really working hard on our writing and we are pretty excited with the results!
