It was a very busy…but fun day in Kindergarten! We started the day by reading the story 'Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving by Dav Pilkey. It is a cute story about how some school children on a field trip to Old Mack Nugget's farm save some turkeys the night before Thanksgiving.
Next we made our Thanksgiving feast snack mix. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this. We had lots of things to add and a huge bowl! Mrs. Radermacher helped do the mixing.
It looked delicious and we were excited to try some. But first we needed to do some community writing. We made a poster of all the things we are thankful for.
Then we were ready to make our cute turkey hats while we enjoyed our Thanksgiving feast snack.
Of course, we had to model our adorable hats!
We couldn't resist a photo with our silly faces, too!
The whole school got to play turkey bingo this afternoon. It was so much fun. We each made our own bingo card. Mrs. Town, Mrs. Tavernier and some of the Northview Student Council members called the game for us on the news. The best part was when you got a bingo, you got to gobble and run down the hall to get your prize. We don't usually get to run in school so that was extra fun for us.
It was a fun, but exhausting day. At this time of year when we think about all that we are grateful for…I am truly grateful for each of these kindergartners. They are teaching me lots of things as I teach them and I look forward to working with them each day. I hope each of you and your families have a happy, safe and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday. Enjoy this special time together with your friends and families. Happy Thanksgiving!
