A Busy Week in Kindergarten!

We had a very busy week in Kindergarten!  The week began with our rescheduled bus safety drill.  We learned how we could safely exit a school bus in the event of an emergency.  We also learned how to safely get on and off the bus and how to cross in front of the bus, too.  Thanks to the District 196 Transportation Department for conducting this safety exercise.

We had a special visitor this week.  Miss Lauren, from Minneapolis Children's Hospital, was here to teach us about staying healthy during flu season.

She taught us four easy things we can all do to stay healthy…
1.  Wash your hands.
2.  Vampire sneeze
3.  Don't share food or drinks.
4.  Get a flu shot

Then we got to practice washing our hands properly.  She gave us some special lotion that we put on our hands.  We looked at our hands under a special light to see where the "germs" were.  Then we washed our hands and checked under the light again.  Some of us discovered that we need to wash a little better!!!  Thank you Miss, Lauren, Children's Hospital and Mrs. Sue Hannasch for scheduling this event for our class!

Mrs. Dahl's fifth grade class stopped by this week.  They read us stories...

…and performed some short plays for us, too.

The week ended with our first Family Fun Night of the 2015 - 2016 school year.  It was playground night.  It was a beautiful evening and we were so happy to have so many Northview families attend.  If you were unable to make it, no worries!  We have more Family Fun Nights scheduled throughout the year.

  1. Mrs. Kurt,
Thank you so much for all of your wonderful posts. We love, love seeing the pictures and reading about what you and the children are doing!! It's the next best thing to being there in the classroom.
