It was a busy week! So fun to be back after a nice spring break. We were ready to get back to work! We started our new unit of study. For the month of April, we will be learning about the authors H.A. and Margret Rey. You may be familiar with some of their books…they wrote the Curious George stories that so many of us have! We are learning lots about them and their beloved character Curious George. George is a good little monkey, but always very curious! We learned that curious means eager to know or learn something. We are like George in kindergarten…we are eager to learn and know more every day!
In Writer's Workshop, we are working on extending our stories. One of the ways we do this is to ask ourselves what does the reader need to know while we are writing the story. This helps us to focus on our topic and to add details. It also helps us lots to talk about our plan before we write!
We learned a new Math game…Race to Trace - Addition!
We also made some pretty cute lady bugs to decorate our room for spring!
Excited for next week and digging in deeper to learn more about Curious George!
