Valentines and Fourth Grade Buddies

Our last day of classes before the President's Day weekend was a busy one.  We opened our valentines,  which was pretty exciting!

We had a Guest Reader…Madelyn's dad!

Miss Sarah stopped by for our Yoga Calm class.

Our fourth grade buddies are working on writing biographies.  They decided to write their biographies on us, so they started by coming to our room to interview us so they can learn more about us.  This process is going to take a while to complete so stay tuned to see the amazing stories these authors will write!

Lunch with our Fourth Grade Buddies

Since it was so cold today, we could not go outside for recess.  We were feeling a little sad about that when the phone in our classroom rang.  It was Mrs. Holtz and she was inviting us to have lunch with our Fourth Grade Buddies.  Of course we said "YES!"  It was really fun to have lunch with our buddies and to get to know them a little better.  It was really fun for Mrs. Kurt to see some of her former students eating lunch at the kindergarten table again, too.  Thanks, fourth grade, for making our day a little more special.

Recent All Stars of the Week

I am a little behind in posting our most recent "All Stars of the Week" in Physical Education…my apologies!  Congratulations to Mercedes and Alex B...

…and to Ellie and Ilyaas.

We are all so proud of you for being All Stars in P.E.  Thanks for being great role models.  Keep up the good work!

Bear Snores On

Today we went on a field trip to Stages Theater in Hopkins to see a production of the play Bear Snores  On.  This play is based on the book Bear Snores On written by Karma Wilson and illustrated by Jane Chapman.  We read the story earlier this week, in preparation for our trip.

We were really excited to take our first field trip.  We had to eat lunch early and then take a pretty long school bus ride.  We had fun and some of us were a little nervous to go to a theater for the first time!

Once we arrived at the theater, we went inside, found our seats and waited for the show to begin.

Before the play started, some of the characters mingled in the audience.  They were looking for the bear!

It was such a great performance and the kindergartners were so well behaved and well mannered…I was very, very proud of them.  After the performance, the characters from the play were in the lobby of the theater and we had a chance to greet them!

I really think that the bus ride was the best part of the trip for some of us!

Special thanks to our amazing chaperones, who gave up time out of their busy days to accompany us on our trip.  We would not be able to do fun things like this without you so THANK YOU Pamela Cummings, Shana Fouts, Colleen Frank, Alyssa Partridge and Traci Schmitt.  And a special shout out to Mrs. Radermacher for all she does for our kindergartners!
