100th Day of School

Well, it finally happened.  On Monday, February 25, we celebrated the 100th Day of School!

Our special guest reader, Miss Kaylin, read us the story Miss Kindergarten Gets Ready for the 100th Day of Kindergarten by Joseph Slate.

We made and wore some pretty adorable 100th day headbands.

We worked together as a community to make and mix our 100th Day Snack Mix.

We shared all the 100 items that we brought to school for our special  "See What 100 Looks Like" sharing activity.

We got to enjoy our 100th Day Snack Mix during snack time.

Can't believe we have already been together for 100 wonderful days...

...and of course we had to have a photo of our 100th day silly faces!

Valentines Day

We had such a fun Valentines Day!  We made cards for our parents, put the finishing touches on a valentine gift for our parents, exchanged and opened valentines from our classmates and even had a treat from our valentine bags.

Sock Drive Update

I am so happy to report that today, our class surpassed our goal of 100 pairs of socks for the student council sock drive.  We have collected 102 pairs of socks so far and there is one more day to contribute.  Thanks to everyone for their donations...we could not have done this without you.  And there is still time to send socks in if you would like to.

Pancakes, Pancakes!

We are wrapping up our Unit of Study on the Author/Illustrator Eric Carle.  We read the story Pancakes, Pancakes! this week and decided it would be fun to make pancakes for a Valentines Day snack!

We talked about all of the ingredients we would need to make the pancakes after reading the story.  We needed flour, eggs, oil, milk, butter, strawberry jam, syrup and some cooking utensils.  I went to the store and picked up what we needed...

Then we were ready to start.  Lucky for us, Miss Becky agreed to help do the cooking.  This was a good thing because since it was also Valentines Day, we had lots going on in the classroom.  She even made some of the pancakes gluten free for our friends that eat gluten free.  We could not have done this without Miss Becky so many thanks to her for her help!!!

What a fun morning and a great way to celebrate the end of our studies about Eric Carle!
