APEX Fun Run Extra Recess

Today we were able to have the extra recess our class earned for their fundraising efforts for our APEX Fun Run.  We all had lots of fun while playing together on the playground this afternoon.  Enjoy some photos of our fun time!

The Gingerbread Man - Part Two

When we arrived at school Friday morning, the sweet smell of gingerbread was in the air.  We tried really hard to focus on our work, but it was too much.  The gingerbread smell was so good we decided to go get the gingerbread man from the kitchen and have our snack early.  Except for there was one problem...

...when we got to the kitchen, the gingerbread man was gone!  We had a problem.  But if there is one thing kindergartners are good at, it is solving problems.  We got to work!  We started looking for clues and asking for help.

We spotted brown crumbs on the floor and even asked some adults to help us out!

You will never guess where he was hiding.  He was right across the hall in Mr. Ball's office!

We were so happy to find him because we were really hungry.  Ms. Kieltyka and Miss Brenda helped get our tasty snack ready to eat!

It ended up being a great morning after all.  We found the gingerbread man and had a wonderful snack, too!

Here is our class once we found the gingerbread man...and below is a photo of our silly faces!

The Gingerbread Man - Part One

In Kindergarten last week, we read several versions of the story The Gingerbread Man, The Gingerbread Boy, and even The Gingerbread Girl.

As you might imagine, all this talk of gingerbread made us a little hungry for a gingerbread snack.  We decided to make our own gingerbread man!  We collected all the items we needed and got to work.

Everyone on our team had to pitch in to help with the mixing.  Then we shaped the dough to look like a gingerbread man...sort of!

We all went to the kitchen together and asked the lunch ladies if they would bake it for us since we don't have an oven in our classroom.

We reminded the ladies not to peek at the gingerbread man in the oven and they promised they would not peek.  Then we went back to our classroom and waited for the next day when the baking would be all done!
