Good Bye, Class of 2028!

Things sure look and sound a lot different around here today.  I can't believe how quickly this year passed by.  Thank you all so much for sharing your amazing children with us at Northview.  They have all grown up so much and made such great progress.  I am so proud of each and every one of them!  One of the best things about teaching Kindergarten is that often times I get to watch these students grow over the next five years.  Such a rewarding experience.  I cannot wait to see where their journeys take them!

Have a fun, safe and relaxing summer.  Best of luck to all of you in First Grade!

Last Day of Kindergarten

Here are some photos from the last day of Kindergarten…we helped clean up the room and pack up our things, played outside, had lunch outdoors and attended the All School Assembly at the end of the day.  Lots of fun for everyone!

All Stars of the Week

Congratulations to our most recent P.E. All Stars of the Week…Madelyn and Wesley.  Thanks for being great role models and All Stars.  We are proud of you!

Camp Read-A-Lot

Camp Read-A-Lot was a huge success!  A big THANK YOU goes out to Traci Schmitt for bringing in, setting up and dismantling this awesome tent for our classroom.  The kindergartners absolutely loved it and had a fun time reading inside of it.

Since we were not able to have a real camp fire in our classroom, Mrs. Dahl found one on YouTube for us to put up on our SMART Board!

We did lots of fun camping themed activities.  We read the story When We Go Camping by Margaret Ruurs, paintings by Andrew Kiss.  It is a beautifully illustrated story about how one busy family finds lots to do from sun up to sunset at their campsite.

Next we worked together in groups and had to come up with a list of the things we would need if our class was going to go camping.  We shared out the lists at the end and were really surprised at all the different ideas the kids had for what we would need.  This enabled the kids to have good discussions and they had to be respectful of each other's ideas and opinions.

And, of course, there was LOTS of reading going on!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this fundraising event.  This event will take place during the next school year, in the fall.  We appreciate your support!
